Make a Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA

If you are 70½ or older, you can take advantage of the IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution to make a direct, tax-free donation from a traditional or Roth IRA to the Jefferson Hills Public Library.  When you make a Qualified Charitable Distribution, your Adjusted Gross Income is lowered by the distribution amount and might decrease the tax you pay on your income.  Contact your financial advisor to determine if making a Qualified Charitable Distribution is the right choice for you.

If you are 73 or older,  your gift counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution.

Contact your financial advisor and be sure to make your gift before December 31 to qualify for the tax year.

No matter your age, you can designate the Jefferson Hills Public Library as the beneficiary of all or a percentage of your IRA and it will pass to us tax-free after your lifetime.

If you would like to initiate a gift from your IRA to the Jefferson Hills Public Library, please consult with your financial advisor to determine requirements and transfer procedures.
